People (past, present, & otherwise)
Todd Allen
Todd is a professor of communications at Geneva College, where he taught many of the d press inner circle. Along with John Kelly, he runs a Civil Rights bus tour through the south that was documented in Reclaiming Our Past (2005). Pittsburgh Magazine named him one of their "40 under 40" in 2005. Todd was slated to appear in yesterday (2001) as "Guy #3", but was unable to make it. As a running joke, he receives that credit pretty much whenever possible.

Everett Lowe

Born January 25, 1981, Everett Lowe's first accomplishment was his victory over cystic fibrosis as an infant. From then on, he knew there was greatness in store for him. Maybe that greatness was acting. It was during college that Everett met Lucas McNelly. Suddenly, d pressing films began to be made--and win awards. Their first collaborative project, yesterday (2001) won Lowe the best actor award at the 2001 Geneva Film Festival. In 2002, he made his directorial film debut with Shades of Grey (2002), winning him both best actor and best dramatic film at Geneva. Everett gets most of his artistic achievement these days by staying active in the Pittsburgh theatre scene, both as an actor and director.

Lucas McNelly

Lucas McNelly spent his formative years in Waldoboro, Maine, watching Celtics games and winning a state title in high school basketball. Then, he hurt his knee. While getting his degree at Geneva College, he wandered into filmmaking, somehow winning three awards at the 2001 Geneva Film Festival for his short film yesterday (2001) and founding d press Productions as an excuse to make more films. Since then, he's gotten significantly better, trying his hand at documentaries, verite films, dramas, and films in foreign languages. From time to time, he works in theatre, sometimes acting, sometimes directing, and his play on a building mid-afternoon somewhere in the world (2005) was produced by Blankspace Arts. In addition to making films, he writes about them, carving out a niche as a film critic syndicated worldwide.
